The Cordyceps Canada Tincture Calculator helps you balance alcohol, water, mushroom mass, potency, recovery, and losses for accurate tincture preparation.
Use this guide to understand each section of the calculator.

1. Alcohol Section

Alcohol strength (%): Enter the ethanol proof (e.g., 95%).
Planned alcohol volume (mL): How much you intended to use.
Actual alcohol used (mL): How much you actually used after biomass absorption.
Planned vs Actual: The calculator will show whether you used exactly, more, or less than planned.

2. Water Section

Water added (mL): Enter how much water you physically added.
Target ABV (%): Enter your desired alcohol percentage (e.g., 32%).
Water suggested: Displays how much water would be needed to reach your target ABV.
(This does not override your input — it’s just a guide.)

3. Mushrooms & Ratio

Dried mushrooms used (g): Enter the dry weight of your biomass.
Solvent ratio (1:X): Enter your target extraction ratio.
Ratio applies to: Choose whether the ratio refers to alcohol only or alcohol + water.

4. Recovery Log

Recovered alcohol (mL): Alcohol recovered during pressing.
Recovered water (mL): Water recovered during pressing.
Other additions (mL): Any neutral liquids added (not alcohol).
Extra losses (mL): Evaporation, spills, or other unplanned losses.

5. Losses & Label

Prep loss (mL): Losses during setup.
Filter/Evap loss (mL): Losses during filtration or evaporation.
Bottle headspace (mL): Leave space in each bottle.
Batch # and Date: Enter for record-keeping and labeling.

6. Potency Section

Potency (mg/g): Enter the estimated actives per gram of mushroom.
Dose size (mL): Enter your intended serving size (e.g., 1 mL).
The calculator will compute:
- Total mg
- mg/mL
- mg per bottle
- mg per dose

7. Outputs (Blue Panel)

Abs. ethanol (mL): Total pure ethanol in the tincture.
Final mix volume (mL): Total tincture volume after adjustments.
Final ABV (%): Resulting alcohol strength.
Water entered (mL): Water you added.
Water suggested (mL): Extra water needed to hit target ABV.
Theoretical need (mL): Solvent required by your chosen ratio.
Over/Under vs need (mL): Shows if you added too much or too little.
Potency metrics: mg/mL, mg/bottle, mg/dose.
Bottling planner: Bottles possible and leftover volume.

8. Buttons

Reset: Restores default values.
Copy Label Summary: Copies a batch summary for easy record-keeping.
